Privacy Policy

Kinforge is built for families, which means we hold information about people who cannot consent for themselves. This page says plainly what we collect, what we do with it, and what we will never do.

Effective August 27, 2026. This is our current policy and it applies today. It is under review by counsel alongside the rest of the Kinforge suite; we will post any changes here before general availability.

Who we are

Kinforge Family is a suite of family applications operated by Kinforge LLC. This policy covers this website and the Kinforge apps that share one Kinforge account — Kinforge Home, Gather, Legacy, Homeschool, and Care.

Some apps in the suite are still being built. When a new app joins, it inherits this policy unless we say otherwise on that app’s own pages.

What we collect

We collect what the product needs to work, and we try not to collect more.

Account information

  • Your name and email address
  • Your household and the people in it
  • Your role in that household — for example parent, guardian, or child

What you put into the apps

  • Goals, routines, reminders, and progress
  • Events, plans, assignments, and shared costs
  • Stories, photos, and keepsakes you choose to save
  • Records you keep for learning or care

Billing information

  • Which plan your household is on, and its status
  • Receipts and billing history

Card numbers are handled by our payment processor and are never stored on Kinforge servers.

Technical and support information

  • Sign-in events, so we can keep your account secure
  • Basic error and performance data
  • Messages you send us through the contact form

Children

Our stance on children’s data

This is the part of the policy we care most about getting right, so we have written it as specific mechanisms rather than a promise to be careful.

A child account only exists because a guardian made it

Children do not sign themselves up for Kinforge. A child’s account is created from inside a household by a parent or guardian, and an invitation is only valid for a limited time before it expires.

Guardians can see and control it

A guardian can view a child’s account, change what it can reach, and delete it. Removing a child from a household removes their access with it.

No advertising, ever

We do not show advertising to anyone in Kinforge, and we do not build advertising or behavioural profiles from anyone’s activity — least of all a child’s. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Nothing is public by default

Kinforge has no public profiles, no follower graph, and no discovery feed. A child’s information is visible to their household, and to no one else, unless a guardian shares it deliberately.

If you believe a child’s information reached us without a guardian’s involvement, tell us and we will delete it and confirm back to you.

How we use information

  • To run the apps and keep your household’s data where you put it
  • To sign you in and keep your account secure
  • To take payment and manage your plan
  • To answer you when you contact us
  • To fix problems and understand which features are used
  • To meet legal obligations

Product analytics are kept deliberately minimal. We look at how features are used in aggregate; we do not read your family’s content to profile you, and we do not use it to train models.

Who else touches your information

We use a small number of service providers to operate Kinforge. Each one is bound by contract to handle your information only on our instructions:

  • Cloud hosting, database, and authentication
  • Payment processing
  • Transactional email — sign-in links, invitations, receipts
  • Privacy-preserving product analytics and error reporting

We will name our current providers if you ask. Contact us and we will send you the list.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We will disclose information if the law requires it, and we will tell you when we are permitted to.

Your choices

See and correct your information

You can view and edit your household’s information inside the apps.

Take it with you

You can ask for a copy of your household’s data in a portable format, and we will send it to you.

Delete it

You can ask us to delete your account and your household’s data. We will do it, and we will confirm when it is done.

Pause instead of losing it

If you stop paying, we do not delete your family’s history as a penalty. See the Terms for how pausing and cancelling work.

How long we keep it

We keep your household’s information while your account is open. After you ask us to delete it, we remove it from our live systems promptly and from routine backups as those backups age out. We keep billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside a household is scoped by role, so a child account cannot reach what a guardian can. Access by our own staff is limited to the people who need it to run the service.

No service can promise perfect security. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and say what happened.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will update the effective date above. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your information, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you to notice.
